Abeni Nava Named MVP of the Summer Sizzler Showcase

This past weekend, #10 Abeni Nava was voted MVP of the Summer Sizzler Showcase—and not by coaches or fans, but by the people who know her best: her teammates.

Abeni has truly taken this team under her wing, leading with heart, hustle, and humility both on and off the field. Her performance this weekend backed it up in every way—batting an impressive .357 and finishing with a perfect 1.00 fielding percentage, committing zero errors. She even stepped into the circle when the team needed her, offering up her arm (and her body) to give our starting pitchers a much-needed break.

Leadership like hers doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s no surprise her teammates saw her as the glue that held the squad together.

We’re incredibly proud of Abeni and can’t wait to watch her take the next step in her journey at Howard Payne University. The future is bright—and it’s just getting started.
