Summer Hit Different, REZ Did Too
REZ Sports Closes Out the Summer — Thunderstorms, Goodbyes, and a Season to Remember
The curtain closed on REZ Sports’ summer season in the most fitting way possible — with the skies opening up and the final game being called halfway through due to rain. A literal storm to match the emotional whirlwind of a weekend full of laughs, sweat, and sweet goodbyes.
Despite the soggy ending, this summer was anything but a wash.
From the first pitch to the final out (or half-game), this group grew in every way imaginable. They learned to trust each other — to communicate without fear, to pick each other up after mistakes, and to celebrate each other’s wins like their own. Their chemistry became unshakable. They got tougher, louder, smarter, and more united. What started as a team became something much more: a family.
The weekend also brought a bittersweet farewell to our senior, Abeni Nava #10, who will soon head off to Howard Payne University. Abeni has been a rock — consistent, selfless, and strong. She led by example, loved her team fiercely, and left a mark that will outlast her jersey number. It’s been a true privilege to share the field with her.
The rain may have cut our last game short, but it couldn’t touch what this team built. As it says in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” And this one? It was full of purpose, full of heart, and one we’ll carry with us always.
But don’t worry — we’re not done yet. REZ is already lacing up for the fall. New goals, new grind, same heart. If this summer was any sign of what’s to come, you’re going to want to keep watching.
The season may be over — but what we built this summer is just getting started. Fall, we’re coming for you.
